ConVerge is a full-service laboratory with deep roots in New England, an attractive and growing market for medical services. The company offers office-based physicians and community hospitals a complete clinical testing menu including flow cytometry, histology, cytology and anatomic pathology. Highly regarded for its high-touch and innovative approach to partnering with its customers, ConVerge offers a strong foundation for expansion into complementary testing areas in the greater Northeast region.
Investment: Water Street invested in ConVerge in 2009. Simultaneous to our investment, we appointed Bob Gorman, a former executive with Quest Diagnostics, as CEO. We also recruited Tom Hirsch, the former CEO of Path Lab, to serve as Lead Outside Director. Together with the management team, we developed an aggressive strategic growth plan focused on expanding the company’s clinical services and test menu to build ConVerge into the leading independent laboratory serving the Northeastern United States.
